The Center for Information Security Awareness was formed in 2007 by a group of leading academics, security and fraud experts to explore ways to increase security awareness among a number of audiences, including consumers, employees, businesses and law enforcement.

Meet our Founder and CEO

 Michael Levin, United States Secret Service, Retired

 In michael levin2007, Michael retired from the United States Secret Service after a distinguished thirty year career in law enforcement. Michael was detailed to the Department of Homeland Security as the Deputy Director of the National Cyber Security Division.  Michael previously served as the Branch Chief of the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force program in Washington DC. Michael was a member of the Secret Service Electronic Crimes Special Agent program and worked in the area of computer forensics and cyber crime investigations for over fifteen years.

His passion for securing the nation's critical infrastructure has led to his tireless efforts to make information security practices interesting, meaningful and relevant at home and at work. 

Michael is a security consultant and frequent lecturer regarding physical security practices, PCI DSS compliance, cyber crime investigations and related topics including methods to enhance public-private partnerships.
